Local Love: Dirty Dale in Toronto

BY  SOURCE :: http://www.mybeatfix.com/2014/07/local-love-dirty-dale-in-toronto/

Since his DJ career set off 13 years ago, Dale Arseneault AKA Dirty Dale, has energized almost every dancefloor in Toronto. In the early 2000’s, Dale was throwing warehouse afterparties with Jonny White and Kenny Glasgow before they were Art Department.

From The Guvernment to Footwork, Dale has played all the dark corners in Toronto’s underground circuit and has brought life to all the city’s biggest clubs.

Having played Toronto shows, which headline a variety of artists from Miguel Migs and Kerri Chandler to Kaytranada and Hot Since 82, Dirty Dale breaks the boundaries that musical genres impose. Selecting tracks during his set neither by producer nor imprint name, Dale paints a soundscape of soul. Dirty Dale isn’t afraid to bounce hip-hop heavy basslines between afro-house vocals and a Detroit techno beat.

No matter the size of the venue or style of his DJ set, what’s guaranteed is an indescribable energy Dirty Dale brings to the crowd. “Just bring shoes to dance in,” he tells us when we asked about any upcoming gigs., a typical answer from Dale who is found front and centre on the dancefloor when he’s not on the decks. He’s also recently been spending more time in the studio and has just produced his first original track.

We are excited to see how the musical diversity from his DJ sets translates into his productions
